Catfish Friday Artist Collective
Catfish Friday Artist Collective previously known as Catfish Friday Women’s Art Collective was established in 2007 in Newark, NJ to provide support and build community among women artists. Visual and literary artists meet monthly from September through June to discuss their works-in-progress, exhibition opportunities and topics of concern to the contemporary artist. Today Catfish Friday is open to all artists interested in being a part of a supportive community of artists. Meetings are held locally throughout the year on the 3rd Saturday of each month. We take a break during the summer in July and August and resume meetings in the fall.

Eligible to apply for our Augusta Savage Create Grant ($200- $300 grant) or our Gladys Grauer Artist Grant ($600 grant)
Eligible for fiscal sponsorship when applying for grants requiring a 501(c)(3) status

Portfolio review - maximum of 20 pieces/jpegs and career counseling - (1 hour session)
Home coaching or e-design consultation 10% discount (limited offer)
Graphic and website design 15% discount
Editorial services: proofreading and manuscript (literary or poetry) review max. 80 pages
Equipment rental (weaving loom and sewing machine)
Full member applicants need to provide:
• Artist resume with contact information
• An artist statement or bio
• Work Samples:
Visual artists: 3-5 jpegs of current artwork with title, date, medium and dimensions
Poets: 3-5 published or unpublished poems with title and date
Writers: a short story, or 5 pages of a manuscript with and date
Performance/multimedia artists: YouTube video link(s)
